With the growth of USSSA Baseball in Virginia, some changes have been made to the State Tournament format. We feel this will allow more teams to play in the State Tournaments and compete at a level that they all will have a chance to excel at.
To be eligible to play in any state tournament, a team must have played in a USSSA Qualifying Event during the year.
ALL TOURNAMENTS HELD IN VIRGINIA WILL BE CONSIDERED STATE QUALIFYING TOURNAMNETS. ONLY THOSE LISTED AS ELITE 8 QUALIFIERS WILL BE USED FOR THE ELITE 8 CHAMPIONSHIP BIRTHS.

Ages 8u, 9u, 15u, 16u, & 18u will have an open state tournament.
Ages 10u, 11u, 12u, 13u, & 14u will have events in 3 different categories.

ELITE 8 - MAJOR
The Elite 8 is for the upper level Major or very good AAA teams.
Teams will have to qualify to play in the State Finals.
There will be 7 different qualifying events throughout the year and the winner of each event will qualify. Last years state champions will get the bid automatically. This tournament will be a 4 game guarantee and will have no entry fee. Each team qualifying will be responsible for a $100 Team Gate Fee.

AAA State Finals
AAA will be for competive travel teams that are willing to compete at all levels. This will be open to any team that is not classified as MAJOR and does not qualify for the Elite 8 Championship.

AA State Finals
AA will be for the local travel team & all star teams that play a few tournament events. This is open to AA Classified Teams only.

Open State Finals
The Open State Finals for all teams registered in the following age groups:
8u, 9u, 15u, 16u, & 18u
